As Donald Trump‘s presidential victory creates wavelengths across the country, the new President is choosing his team of cabinet ministers, and Joe Exotic seems to be in the line too.
The ‘Tiger King’ celebrity penned a note to Trump asking for pardon and requesting a role in the new cabinet. Here’s everything he said and why the celebrity is in jail.
Why Is Joe Exotic In Jail?
Tiger King star and ardent Trump supporter, Joe Exotic, has written to the president-elect pleading for an early release from prison.
The 61-year-old prisoner demands to be released from the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, further adding that he would like to have a place in Trump’s cabinet.
Netflix’s 2020 documentary made Exotic (real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage) famous, but he was arrested in 2019. He was found guilty on two charges of murder for hire, nine counts of Endangered Species Act infractions, and nine counts of breaching the Lacey Act, which forbids the unlawful trade of fish, plants, and wildlife. He is set to be released in 2036.
Joe Exotic Requests For A Place In Trump’s Cabinet
In the letter obtained by RadarOnline, the celebrity writes, “A lot of people went to bat for you in 2021 who have been living in hell ever since then. Everyone hopes you keep the promises you made during your campaign, which include pardoning everyone sooner than later in January 2025.”
He further adds, “Some, like myself, have fought like hell to hang on, hoping for you to win this election. It is time to bring some honesty to this department because the former director, Dan Ash, only looked out for himself and his position within the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. He used his federal position to put me out of business and in prison to benefit his non-profit, the AZA.”
He continued: “Hundreds of millions of dollars are being wasted within this department, the Endangered Species Act of 1973 was written to protect the animals and their habitats on our lands. It was not meant to be used to create illegal monopolies, as it has been in the past, allowing only certain people to profit from this Act and putting their competitors out of business.”
Trump has not yet responded to Joe’s pleas.
