Although fans continue to miss Big E’s explosive offense inside the ring, many have expressed interest in seeing him take on a regular role at the commentary desk following his injury. However, the former WWE Champion does not appear entirely convinced about committing to the job on a weekly basis and recently shared his thoughts on the idea.
During a recent appearance on The Takedown on SI, Big E acknowledged that fans have appreciated the analytical perspective he has offered since stepping away from in-ring competition. Still, the 40-year-old suggested that, given his current lifestyle, he may prefer to keep some distance from being actively involved in WWE programming on a full-time basis.
Big E Is Enjoying His Life By Not Being In the ‘WWE Hamster Wheel’

Having appeared on several pre- and post-show panels for WWE premium live events, Big E has become a popular choice among fans who would like to see him transition into a regular commentary role.
However, after spending a significant amount of time away from the road, the former WWE Champion made it clear that he currently has no intention of returning to the weekly travel schedule that such a role would require.
“I will say I think the idea of being on the road every single week for an extended period of time is something that I’m not really open to doing right now”, said the New Day member.
He further acknowledged the fans for always having his back and also mentioned how several WWE personnel, including veteran commentator Michael Cole, want him to join the commentary team. Big E revealed how, when he first started, he was on a ‘WWE Hamster wheel’ and once he was able to get off that wheel, he realized that he was able to live his life peacefully with family and friends.

Big E Was Put In A Weird Spot During the New Day’s 10th Anniversary Segment

In December 2024, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods celebrated 10 successful years of The New Day, with Big E also making a special appearance during the segment.
However, the moment quickly took an unexpected turn as Kingston and Woods insulted their longtime teammate, blaming him for not being present for the group and turning heel in the process.

While many fans anticipated that the segment would lead to a major storyline involving the trio, it ultimately appeared to be a one-off appearance for the former WWE Champion.
Speaking during his recent interview, Big E admitted he understood the criticism from fans and was equally puzzled by the direction, questioning why so much effort was put into the segment only for him to never appear again afterward.
