“Welcome to the Vonn rehab center,” Lindsey Vonn captioned an Instagram Story video on Wednesday, showing her sister Karin Kildow on crutches with a brace on her leg. “Patient #2 – torn ACL.”

In the clip, Lindsey can be heard joking from a rehab table, “Karin joins the rehab program!”, adding a lighthearted touch to what has been a difficult period for both sisters. Karin also shared her own update, writing, “First appointment with my new physical therapist.”

While Lindsey did not reveal how Karin sustained the injury, the update comes after the 33-year-old stood firmly by her side during a grueling stretch in a Milan hospital, where Lindsey spent nearly two weeks immobile following multiple surgeries.

As she continues to navigate a challenging recovery from her torn ACL, Vonn has made it clear that her health remains her top priority, with no immediate plans to discuss a return to skiing. Addressing the speculation, she wrote, “No, I’m not ready to discuss my future in skiing.”

Despite tearing her ACL just weeks before her planned 2026 campaign, Lindsey Vonn pushed through to compete but suffered a frightening crash only 13 seconds into her first run, after which she was rushed to the hospital.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Vonn described the experience as incredibly painful and challenging. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she also expressed deep gratitude to Dr. Tom Hackett for his life-changing intervention.

She wrote,“He saved my leg from being amputated. He did what’s called a fasciotomy, where he cut open both sides of my leg and kind of filleted it open so to speak, let it breathe, and he saved me”.
