Rey Mysterio’s WWE Hall Of Fame Essentials

The biggest little man in professional wrestling, Rey Mysterio, has long been regarded as one of the greatest performers to ever step inside the ring. Over the years, Mysterio has delivered countless memorable matches against some of the sport’s all-time greats. While fans often debate which bouts rank among his best, the master of the 619 recently revealed two personal favorites from his storied career.

During a recent short interview with Adrian Hernandez, Mysterio spoke about his current injury and shared his thoughts on Dominik Mysterio betraying Finn Balor on RAW last week. When asked which match from his WWE career he would choose to represent him in the Hall of Fame, the former WWE Champion pointed to two bouts that stand out above the rest in his own eyes.

Rey Mysterio revealed that his match with Eddie Guerrero from WrestleMania 21 remains one of his favorite matches of all time, and he has been a big fan of the performance both the veterans put out during the match. “I’ll tell you what, I’m a big fan of Eddie and I. WrestleMania 21, WrestleMania goes Hollywood,” said Mysterio.

He also picked his instant classic with Kurt Angle at SummerSlam 2002, where both men delivered a quick 10-minute opening bout, which is still claimed as one of the best SummerSlam opening matches of all time.

Given his huge array of matches, the Luchadore’s picks might be suitable to showcase his performance, and given how he has excelled in the show’s opening, both matches are still regarded as one of the best openers.
