Super Bowl 2024 Becomes Most-Watched Telecast Of All Time With 123.7 Million Viewers Since 1969 Moon Landing

The Super Bowl this year was a big affair. With more than 61,000 people showing up for the game, and more than hundred million people watching it live- something that might have a lot to do with Taylor Swift.

The biggest American sports event of the year went on to become the most watched telecast of all time. Here are all the statistics.

Recent stats have revealed that the last time a real life event telecast was watched by this many people, it was 1969 and America was watching the historic Apollo landing.

Although there is some debate on whether it’s the Swift effect or just an increase in football interest collectively; but it’s hard to argue against the Swift effect. Ever since her relationship with Travis was revealed, it has done wonders for the NFL. A number of Swifties were glued to the screen for a glimpse of Swift and her reactions as she sat with Ice Spice and Blake Lively. A consumer research has revealed that 20% of viewers were supporting Kelce because of Swift.

The match was available to watch on Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Univision, CBS Sports and NFL digital channels. A total of 123 million people watched it- which is a big jump from last year’s 112 million viewers.

Ironically, The Super Bowl Had Low Attendance

The live telecast might be the most watched event in history, but attendance in Super Bowl was super low.

Only 61,000 people showed up to the stadium, which is the lowest amount of viewers the game has ever had- except for the ones held during the Pandemic.

The reason behind this might be the incredibly priced tickets, or the stadium’s incapability to hold people more than that. It probably is the latter, seeing as how football fans are ready to spend a fortune to watch a game, and this is the Super Bowl we are talking about.

The official site of the stadium notes that their capacity is 65000 people.
