Amid the discussion, AEW star Will Ospreay weighed in on the situation, suggesting an alternative approach. During a recent appearance at Superstar Crossover, Ospreay stated that he believes Tony Khan should counter-program WrestleMania 43 by hosting a full weekend of events, aiming to capitalize on the heightened global attention surrounding the show.
Will Ospreay Wants Affordable Wrestling Shows By AEW During WrestleMania 43 Weekend
During the conversation, Will Ospreay emphasized that fans would likely welcome an alternative wrestling event during the WrestleMania 43 weekend. He suggested that Tony Khan should explore the idea of staging a major show with more affordable ticket pricing, expanding it into a full weekend experience by incorporating Ring of Honor and several independent promotions.
He revealed, “I hope [Tony Khan] is considering it because I think the best thing we can do, on that day that WrestleMania is over in Saudi Arabia, make affordable tickets for one of the greatest wrestling shows ever and make it a whole weekend. Ring of Honor on Saturday. Help out a bunch of indie promotions on Friday”.

Ospreay added that AEW management could potentially put together a major event for fans if it were scheduled during the WrestleMania 43 weekend. Whether the company ultimately moves forward with such plans, however, remains to be seen, as only time will tell if they choose to capitalize on that window.
Tony Khan Plans To Counter WrestleMania 43 With Massive Events In 2027
As WrestleMania 43 aims to be a lot bigger in 2027, Tony Khan might do something similar with AEW, as he revealed during the All Out 2025 Media conference that the Jacksonville company would run a huge event in Spring 2027 during the Mania season.
He stated, “I can promise we’re gonna run a huge event in the spring of 2027. I think spring 2027 is gonna be a great time for AEW. I can promise we’ll have a huge AEW Revolution and a lot of big plans for then.”
