The ‘Star Wars‘ universe, a galaxy far, far away, has captured the hearts and minds of generations. With its iconic characters, epic battles, and profound themes, it’s a cultural touchstone that continues to inspire and entertain.
Director Shawn Levy is behind the superhit ‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘ and is set to embark on his own journey through this beloved universe. So, it’s safe to say his approach is as intriguing as it is promising.
Shawn Levy Wants His ‘Star Wars’ Film To Feel Authentic
In a recent conversation with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Podcast, Levy offered a glimpse into the creative process for his upcoming ‘Star Wars‘ film. The director emphasized his desire to create a project that felt authentic to his own sensibilities, both in terms of tone and character development.
“I really wanted to craft something that felt organic to me,” Levy claimed. “Both in tone and characters, so I think that there is certainly the Force and a connection to something bigger than our individual selves,” he added. Moreover, his focus on organic storytelling suggests a departure from the grand, operatic narratives that have dominated the series in recent years.
Instead, he seems inclined to explore the intimate, human side of the ‘Star Wars‘ universe. Additionally, this approach aligns with the core themes of the original trilogy which are hope, friendship, and the power of the individual.
While details about the plot and characters are still under wraps, Levy’s comments offer an intriguing glimpse into his vision. Additionally, with his proven ability to blend humor, heart, and spectacle, as evidenced by his work on films like ‘Free Guy,’ there is definitely a reason to be optimistic about his ‘Star Wars‘ project. Moreover, his commitment to crafting a story that feels personal to him is a promising sign.

Shawn Levy Also Wants To Make A Deadpool X Spider-Man Movie
Director Shawn Levy has thrown down the gauntlet for Marvel fans. While talking to TotalFilm he revealed that he wanted the Merc with a Mouth to join the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Additionally, Levy believes Deadpool’s audacious humor would be the perfect foil for Tom Holland’s charismatic Peter Parker.
“The thing about Deadpool is I think he makes everything more interesting because of his audacity,” Levy said. “But, boy, I’d sure love to see Deadpool and Spidey. That’s a movie I’d love to make. I feel like Tom Holland would run circles around everyone else,” he added.
Previously, even Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds talked about wanting to team up with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. However, their intentions weren’t straight up. The ‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘ duo joked about always having the upper hand over Tom due to him being young and poking fun at him.
