Samuel L. Jackson Believes His ‘Star Wars’ Character Mace Windu Survived The Events Of ‘Revenge Of The Sith’

Samuel L. Jackson‘s portrayal of Mace Windu in the ‘Star Wars’  prequel trilogy has made him one of the most beloved characters in the franchise. His iconic purple lightsaber and commanding presence have captivated audiences for years.

In ‘Revenge of the Sith’, Mace Windu was seemingly killed after being struck down by Darth Sidious. However, many fans have alongside Jackson clung to the hope that the character somehow survived the encounter.

Samuel L. Jackson himself has never ruled out the possibility of Mace Windu’s return. On the HappySadpodcast, he expressed his belief that the character could still be alive. “I mean, there’s a long history of one-armed, one-handed people in the Star Wars universe,” Jackson joked.

So, just cause they cut my arm off and I fell out of a window, doesn’t mean I’m dead. I’m a Jedi! I’m the second-most powerful Jedi in the universe, next to Yoda,” he added. While Jackson’s enthusiasm is infectious, a return for Mace Windu may be challenging.

Lucasfilm is currently focused on several other ‘Star Wars’ projects, including ‘The Mandalorian’ movie, Rey’s sequel trilogy, and ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2. Additionally, the character of Mace Windu is associated with the prequel trilogy, which has a mixed reputation among fans.

Bringing the character back could potentially alienate some viewers who are not as fond of the prequels. However, despite the challenges, many fans would love to see Mace Windu return to the ‘Star Wars’ universe. His unique personality and abilities make him a beloved character.

Samuel L. Jackson also revealed that he had approached Bryce Dallas Howard, a director of ‘The Mandalorian’, about the possibility of bringing Mace Windu back. “The only person I’ve ever said that to about coming back was Bryce Dallas Howard, ’cause I just did a movie with her,” he revealed.

Jackson also joked about asking the director if she liked him. “You think you might be able to hook a brother up? I mean you like me, right?’ She’s like, ‘I love you, you’re amazing!’ So, ‘Put me back in there… Put me in, coach, I’m ready! He added. Additionally, the actor is even ready to learn to “lightsaber left-handed” if it means he could return as Windu.

While there are currently no concrete plans for a Mace Windu project, Jackson’s enthusiasm suggests that the possibility is not entirely out of the question. Moreover, with the success of the ‘Star Wars’ universe on Disney+, there is always the potential for new and exciting stories to be told.
