Elon Musk has been trying to be the messiah of Twitter, helping it revamp itself into a ‘Twitter 2.0’ version. The billionaire has been on this mission even before buying the platform. He was regularly updating his plans and notes on how Twitter could be sanctified as a “digital town square” to accommodate various interests and opinions. But the business mogul’s plans have not come to fruition.
After a long, strenuous battle to finally settle the Twitter lawsuit and buy the platform, Elon Musk experienced financial dwindle. This was due to advertisers pulling out their advertisements, causing a loss of the platform’s primary revenue stream. So, the task at hand was cost-cutting, creating various revenue streams, and competing with the contenders in the social media space. But, during this whole revamp, the billionaire wanted to make the platform into an ‘everything app,’ and his vision may translate into reality soon.

Elon Musk-Led Twitter’s Merger With X Corp Can Fuel His Vision For A Super App
In October 2022, before closing the historic $44 billion deal, Elon Musk tweeted about the idea of “creating X, the everything app.” It is indeed a visionary idea to bring an everything app or super app to the United States.

Super apps existed in Asia, Latin America, and Africa. China was the pioneer to create an everything app called WeChat. The initial utility of the application was to chat, but later it introduced payments, shopping, food ordering, taxi services, etc.,
So, taking inspiration from China, Elon Musk has taken his first step to create a super app utilizing Twitter. Bloomberg reported on April 11, 2023, that Elon Musk’s Twitter is no longer an independent company after it merged with the shell firm X Corp. Musk has been taking active steps to convert Twitter into a super app. He introduced a new update to the already existing Cashtags.
He has partnered with a crypto trading company, eToro. Through eToro, Twitter users can buy and sell their assets using the Cashtags feature. There is also another ambitious AI company called X.AI Corp. So, Elon may be planning to merge this into his ‘everything app’ project.

The Billionaire Plans To Launch TruthGPT, A Rival To Open AI
The unprecedented growth of Artificial Intelligence has become unhealthy to a point that many business and tech moguls fear it. Elon Musk is no second to that. Though he has been a strong propagator of new technology, Elon Musk says that it could lead to “civilization destruction.”
In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Elon Musk said, “AI is more dangerous than, say, mismanaged aircraft design or production maintenance or bad car production, in the sense that it is, it has the potential — however small one may regard that probability, but it is non-trivial — it has the potential of civilization destruction.”
However, in the same interview, he also proposed introducing an AI initiative called TruthGPT. The initiative aims to maximize “truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe.” He has also been a staunch critic of government regulation, but he wants a federal regulatory system in place to regulate AI before it is too late.
Musk said, “A regulatory agency needs to start with a group that initially seeks insight into AI, then solicits opinion from industry, and then has proposed rule-making.”
