It is just a month from now that King Charles III will be officially crowned as the British monarch. After Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September 2022, King Charles ascended to the throne as the rightful heir. Several notable delegates and celebrities will attend the coronation ceremony because it is a national event. However, Joe Biden will not attend the ceremony.
The coronation ceremony of King Charles III will take place on May 6th, 2023, at Westminster Abbey. Though Charles has started the execution of the powers vested in him as the King, he is yet to become the monarch, ceremoniously. The Accession Council already conducted the official proclamation of Charles at St. James Palace. However, there has been a looming cloud of uncertainty over the guest list. Many well known celebrities have turned down offers to perform at and attend the ceremony. Joe Biden is now added to the long list of attendees who declined the invitation.

Joe Biden May Send The First Lady, Jill Biden To The Coronation Of King Charles III
The President of the United States, Joe Biden, will not be able to attend the coveted coronation ceremony of King Charles III. It is one of the most important events in Britain. A new king is ascending the throne after 70 years. The last coronation was that of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. Historically, no US president has attended the coronation of Britain’s monarch.
Though the POTUS will not attend the ceremony, he will send a delegate. As per the sources, Biden might send the First Lady, Jill Biden, or Kamala Harris as the representative from the US. One source told Dailymail.com, “We think the representative will be the First Lady or the Vice President. For the Queen, it was the Governor of California and the U.S. Army chief of staff.”

The President Is Too Old To Travel
Joe Biden will not be able to travel to King Charles III’s coronation as he will be traveling to Northern Ireland in April 2023. So, two consecutive trips across the Atlantic will not be conducive to his health. There is chatter that Biden might run for the presidency in 2024. He is also scheduled to go to the G7 summit in Japan in May 2023.
A source closer to the delegation discussions said, “The guy is 80. They space out his big bursts of activity quite considerably. They did that too with Trump, and he was younger. When Biden does something like the State of the Union address, we didn’t see much from him in the following 48 hours. They don’t like to push him around the world too much.”
