Since exiting the Royal Family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been under constant media scrutiny. Even before the Megxit, the couple were subjected to many defamatory tabloid articles and conjectures. There has been a lot of chatter about Meghan’s race angle and the relations with the other members from the Royal Family. The couple penned a deal with Netflix to release content on the streaming platform. In December 2022, they released their explosive docuseries ‘Harry & Meghan’, where they took the charge of the narrative and told the story.
The two-parts docuseries was an exposé of some unheard and unseen stories and the anxities of the ex-Royal couple. The docuseries revealed many things. It included the media’s treatment toward the couple before and after their marriage. Those flashing lights did not scintillate the relationship, but pushed them in a dark, depressive hole. There were some stories that happened behind the close doors of the Royal Palace. In some of them, Prince William and King Charles were omnipresent. In one of the episodes, he alleged that his father disclosed the destination post their exit.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Wanted To Shift To South Africa
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first piece of content after striking a deal with Netflix is out. The ‘Harry & Meghan’ docuseries is released and has received flak and appreciation for the couple. But, the criticism has been scathing. There were accusations of playing victimhood and maligning the Royal Family image for sympathies. Despite wanting privacy, the spectators complained that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are contradicting themselves.
In the docuseries, the couple did speak about their Royal Family exit. After signing off the royal duties, Harry and Meghan realigned their lives and shifted to California, USA. They wanted to go to Canada, but the news got leaked after Harry shared a request with King Charles. But, their original location of migration was South Africa.
Due to many of their humanitarian causes, the two decided to shift to South Africa in 2019. But, they could not because King Charles allegedly confirmed the location with the media about their movement to another country.
In episode five of the docuseries, he talked about how the Royal Family was the source who leaked the destination. He said, “It became clear that the institution leaked the fact that we were going to be moving back to Canada. And the key piece of that story that made me aware that the contents of the letter between me and my father had been leaked was that we were willing to relinquish our Sussex titles. That was the giveaway”.

Politico Called The Couple ‘Narcissists’
In an editorial piece, the editor of the Politico, Joanna Weiss wrote about the personalities in 2022 that can be deemed to be narcissists. She included the names of Donald Trump, Sam Bankman-Fried, the CEO of Theranos, Elizabeth Holmes. Two names which were included in the list were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. During the Megxit, the editor found the couple to be adorable, but then they “irritated” her.
Weiss called them “grandiose narcissists”. Joanna wrote, “My natural sympathy for the couple started turning to irritation, and it occurred to me that ego has its limits. And it struck me that the overreach that led to the Sussexes’ critically panned mega-series is the same impulse that turned Elon Musk into a terror on Twitter, that prompted Ye to up the ante of outrageous behavior until he crossed the line into blatant antisemitism, that sent Bankman-Fried from the top of the world to a Bahamian jail”.
