The ‘Harry Potter‘ world is starting fresh again with HBO’s reboot, and seeing a new generation step into these roles feels a little magical on its own. As the new cast begins their journey into Hogwarts, a heartwarming gesture from Daniel Radcliffe has caught our attention.
Radcliffe reached out to the new Harry with a personal message, and what he said to him will forever be there in the pages of Hogwarts history.
Daniel Reveals He Wrote A Heartfelt Letter To Dominic McLaughlin

When Daniel Radcliffe appeared on Good Morning America, he spoke openly about watching another young actor step into Harry’s shoes. He said he doesn’t expect Dominic McLaughlin, the new Harry, to contact him or feel any pressure because of his own history with the role. Even so, with the reboot moving forward and familiar characters returning in new forms, Daniel felt it was the right moment to send a small message of support.

He shared that he wrote Dominic a simple letter, wishing him well as he starts filming. Daniel said Dominic replied with a very sweet note as someone who understands exactly what Dominic is stepping into. Seeing Dominic, along with Arabella Stanton as Hermione and Alastair Stout as Ron, also brought back memories for Daniel. He said they look so young, and it instantly reminded him of his own early days stepping into the wizarding world at their age.
Daniel’s Hope For The New ‘Harry Potter’ Cast

Daniel said the real reason he reached out was that he wanted Dominic to enjoy the experience ahead. He talked about how much he loved making the original films, but he hoped Dominic would have an even better time. He also mentioned that he didn’t want to be a constant figure in the children’s lives and simply wanted to offer them a warm message.

Daniel mentioned that Dominic’s note back was very sweet, and we could almost feel his pride as he passed the baton to the next generation. Daniel can’t be any happier to see the story continue with the new cast. Watching the kids start their own adventure made Daniel think about how overwhelming it all felt at the beginning. Now, he just wishes the kids would enjoy the journey as he once did.
Alongside Dominic, the reboot features several young actors taking on familiar roles. Lox Pratt will play Draco Malfoy, Alessia Leoni will play Parvati Patil, Leo Earley joins as Seamus Finnigan, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, and Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley. Since each season will cover one book, these young actors are preparing for nearly a decade of filming.
To support them during this long commitment, Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden built a temporary school on set. The BBC reported this in July, explaining that the setup will help the children balance their studies with their filming schedules. Now, we are all waiting for the 2027 release of the new Harry Potter series on HBO.
