‘Game Of Thrones’: How Westeros And The North Would Have Coped Without Jon Snow’s Resurrection

Game of Thrones‘ is one of those rare shows that consistently kept fans on their toes. It’s full of jaw-dropping plot twists and unexpected character arcs. One of the most memorable moments of the entire series was the resurrection of Jon Snow, thanks to Melisandre’s intervention. This crucial plot twist had fans screaming at their TVs, wondering what the showrunners had in store.

But what if Jon Snow had never been brought back from the dead? If you think about it, his return was pivotal to the survival of Westeros and the North. The ripple effects of his absence would have transformed the entire outcome of the war against the White Walkers and, possibly, the Iron Throne itself.

Without Jon Snow in the picture, there’s no denying that chaos would have been Littlefinger’s best friend. His creepy obsession with Sansa Stark was more than just personal. He saw her as his golden ticket to control the North.

With Jon out of the equation, Baelish might have manipulated Sansa even further, tightening his grip over the region. “I only want to protect you,” he’d say, while twisting the knife behind her back.

And with Jon gone, Littlefinger would have had fewer obstacles on his path to the Iron Throne. If you thought his plotting was bad in the actual show, just imagine how insidious it could have been without Jon around to rally the North.

Speaking of Sansa, let’s not forget that she already had a better claim to Winterfell than Jon. Without Jon’s resurrection, Sansa might have taken the mantle of Queen in the North much sooner. And honestly, she would’ve killed it.

Her sharp political instincts would have secured her power in the North, but her icy relationship with Daenerys Targaryen would have been even more volatile. Can you imagine Sansa bending the knee to Dany? Hard to imagine, right?

Without Jon Snow, the entire trajectory of the White Walker invasion would have shifted. The Night King needed a dragon to breach the Wall, and the only reason Daenerys flew beyond the Wall was to save Jon and his crew.

If Jon had remained dead, there’s a good chance the Night King wouldn’t have gotten his icy hands on Viserion. With no Jon to lead the North and broker a deal with Daenerys, the Wildlings would have been left to face the Army of the Dead on their own.

We all saw how Daenerys slowly but surely descended into madness after realizing Jon’s legitimate claim to the Iron Throne. Without Jon there to make her feel insecure about her position, would she have kept her cool? Doubtful.

But without the North’s support, she might have had fewer options to exert her power, forcing her hand to go full “Mad Queen” much earlier. One way or another, King’s Landing would have ended up a smoking ruin.

Let’s not forget Arya Stark, who would have likely taken matters into her own hands much sooner. Without Jon as a buffer, Arya’s loyalty to Sansa would have been unwavering. “A girl has no name,” Arya would whisper, right before putting an end to the “Mother of Dragons” herself.
