‘Harry Potter’ TV Series Casts Golden Trio: Meet New Harry, Ron And Hermione

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint might be the original golden trio we fell in love with once the ‘Harry Potter’ movies started rolling out, but it’s time for new blood. HBO’s TV reboot has found its Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, And Hermione Granger.

The audition process was extensive and rigorous. More than 30,000 actors showed up to be a part of the wizarding world created by author J.K. Rowling. The casting call has ended and the cast has been unveiled. With filming expected to begin this summer, there’s a lot for fans to look forward to, once they get past the nostalgia of the films.

In the early 2000s, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint shot to worldwide fame with their Hogwarts adventures. Now, we will see Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley in the TV adaptation. Whether HBO’s Harry Potter’ series is a good idea or not, it’s certainly moving forth with full steam.

About the latest casting of child actors, executive producers Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod stated, “The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen.”

While fans have been skeptical about the new show, considering the unwavering legacy of the films and J.K. Rowling’s controversial views on the trans community that made the original actors distance themselves from the franchise, the HBO production is touted to be a “faithful adaptation” of the books.

If you are wondering whether Daniel, Emma, and Rupert might make an appearance in the show eventually, that will be wishful thinking. Rowling is the executive producer on the show and the actors have explicitly said they would only return if she isn’t involved.

The upside? Many elements, characters, and backstories from the novels were left out of the films released between 2001 and 2011 due to time and pacing constraints. However, the ‘Harry Potter’ show will span at least a decade which will allow room to cover all the lost plot points.

New Hogwarts Professors Are Ready For Magic And Might

In the ‘Harry Potter’ series, John Lithgow will portray Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore. The other professors joining him will be Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall and Paapa Essiedu, as Severus Snape. Nick Frost has been roped in to play the loveable groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid, whereas Luke Thallon will take up the role of Professor Quirinus Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse will be seen as the school’s caretaker Argus Filch.

The big casting awaiting us all is of Lord Voldemort now. Whoever plays the part has to embody the darkness and unhinged menace that comes with the big baddie of the magical realm.

It’s been almost three decades of ‘Harry Potter’ love for fans. The first book, ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ was published in 1997, and the Potterverse grew larger and more magical with each new chapter, book, and movie. Now, 15 years after the final film, the show is ready for premiere in 2026. Whether it can recapture the hearts of millions remains to be seen, but no one can deny the impact these wizards had on our Muggle world.
