Fans love a good leak, and this one came from a kid who probably didn’t realise he was about to set the fandom on fire. During a recent appearance, young actor Dexter Sol Ansell casually dropped a detail that instantly grabbed the attention of ‘A Song of Ice and Fire‘ followers. The tea here is: Henry Cavill might be a part of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms‘ Season 2.
While it’s certain to see such rumors heading in at this time, what if two of the cast members indirectly hint towards a possible debut of Henry Cavill?
Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell Accidentally Reveal Henry Cavill’s Surprise Debut

During their New York Comic-Con panel appearance back in October, Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell accidentally referenced Henry Cavill. The clip dates back to an October panel appearance, but it only recently began circulating online. In it, Peter Claffey compares Duncan the Tall to Geralt of Rivia from the first season of ‘The Witcher‘, clearly referencing Henry Cavill’s time in the role. Then things take a turn.

Dexter Sol Ansell, who plays Egg, suddenly jumps in and starts saying, “Can we say that Henry Cavill…”. Claffey quickly cuts him off. “No, no, no; God don’t say that… sorry… you didn’t hear that,” he says while laughing, ending the sentence before it can continue. Because of that reaction, viewers now believe Ansell was about to reveal Cavill’s involvement in Season 2.
If Not A Joke, Then Who Would Cavill Play in the ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’?

Naturally, the discussion quickly moved from whether Cavill is in the show to who he could be playing. Most theories point toward Daemon Blackfyre. Being one of the most important figures in Targaryen history, Henry Cavill’s debut in the ‘Game of Thrones‘ spinoff might add a lot of star power to the show.

In the story’s history, Daemon Blackfyre is a legendary warrior, the legitimized son of King Aegon IV, who later founded House Blackfyre and rebelled against the Iron Throne. Even though A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms happens years later, the entire world still lives in the shadow of that rebellion.
Season 2 is expected to explore that past through flashbacks. So if the show introduces a famous warrior from history, casting a major fantasy star would make sense, which is why Cavill’s name immediately caught attention.
However, given Cavill’s schedule and how the shooting of the second season has already begun, there is a huge possibility that the ‘Superman‘ actor might not be a part of the show anytime soon. Many fans also want the ‘Man of Steel’ star not to debut in ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ as he should arrive in another spin-off of the ‘Game of Thrones’ franchise.
Now, it remains to be seen if the speculations and rumors turn out to be true, and whether Henry Cavill will make his much-awaited debut in ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms‘.
