The fantasy series, ‘House of the Dragon‘ is here. Premiered a week ago, HBO has come out with the prequel to one of its greatest successes, ‘Game of Thrones‘. The new show is based on George R. R. Martin’s novel ‘Fire & Blood’ published in 2018. The prequel is set about 200 years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’.
The series has been one of the much-awaited prequels. The premiere ended up being one of the biggest series premieres for HBO with 20 million views. obviously, the sequel has left out some stories untold. And the prequel here would delve deep and connect all the loose dots of the plot. The series would put forward more of the political battles, unveil the long history, and more of the dragons.

‘House Of The Dragon’: The Untold History
King Viserys (Paddy Considine) passes on one of the family secrets to his daughter and the next heir, Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alock) in the first episode of ‘House of the Dragon’. And this answers many unanswered questions in the sequel. Mainly the reason why the events in ‘Game of Thrones’ took place.
Viserys said, “Aegon foresaw the end of the world of men. It is, to begin with, a terrible winter gusting out of the distant North. Aegon saw absolute darkness riding on those winds and whatever dwells within will destroy the world of the living.”
He continued, “When this great winter comes, Rhaenyra, all of Westeros must stand against it. And if the world of men is to survive, a Targaryen must be seated on the Iron Throne. A king or queen strong enough to unite the realm against the cold and the dark.“

The Seven Kingdoms
Aegon called his dream ‘The Song of Ice and Fire‘. It is with this dream that Aegon the Conquerer moved to the western outpost of Valyrian Freehold. As he looked to the east he could find his past and in the west, he saw his future. So with his sister-wives, Rhaenys and Visenya, he moved on to conquer Westeros and later on invaded and unified six of the Seven Kingdoms.
Dorne was the only one to resist and keep his kingdom for some centuries. But finally, with the prince, Maron Martell agreeing to marry Princess Daenerys Targaryen, Dorne voluntarily joins the Seven Kingdoms. Thus the kingdoms come under the Targaryen dynasty.
