The second season of ‘House Of The Dragon’ has come to an end and the finale has lived up to all of our expectations, setting a tone for the third season. While it was not devoid of surprises and plot twists, the episode was surely the treat that fans had been waiting for.
Among the various mind-blowing scenes from the finale, one has especially stuck with fans: a special cameo in the finale that also answered many questions that ‘Game Of Thrones’ fans may have had. The cameo is none other than of Emilia Clarke who reprised her role as Daenerys Targaryen from ‘Game of Thrones’. Here’s what it means for the show’s rich legacy.

‘House Of The Dragon’ Finale Confirms A Big Fan Theory
One of the biggest burning questions from the fandom has remained about who the Prince from Aegon’s lore is. According to Aegon’s dream in ‘A Song Of Ice And Fire’, a prince will ultimately save the world. However, the identity of this person remains a mystery. This lore was handed down to Rhaenyra by King Viserys, who then handed it down to Jacaerys too.
The lore has also been referred to in ‘Game Of Thrones’. And in the season finale, it is Daemon Targaryen who finally gets the answer from Alys Rivers and her weirwood tree-induced vision.
Daemon gets a vision from the far future where Daenerys is seen emerging from the fire. This scene is a recreation of the ‘Game of Thrones‘ scene where she becomes the mother of dragons. Daemon’s vision clearly points out that Daenerys is the Prince who was promised.

What Does This Mean For Season 3?
Daemon’s vision also included Rhaenyra sitting on the Iron Throne. This is what ultimately led to him bending his knee to Rhaenyra. Season 2 gave us only a few crucial moments from the book, but it mainly set the tempo for the third season. A lot is yet to happen in ‘House Of The Dragon’.
The makers are also taking a lot of freedom of expression deviating from the source material. So far we know that Rhaenyra has gathered a big force for her cause and she is prepared for battle now. So season 3 will surely be featuring more battles. It remains to be seen how the producers tackle the storyline for the third season.
