How ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Is About To Redefine Every Major Character’s Life

After years of silence, waiting, and endless fan theories, ‘Euphoria‘ is finally stepping back into the spotlight. HBO has confirmed when Season 3 will arrive, and Sam Levinson has started teasing where everyone ends up after the huge time jump.

The early hints show that the characters’ lives have changed in surprising ways. And, the new season pushes them far beyond their high-school days. Rest assured, the upcoming storylines are more dramatic than ever.

Season 3 of ‘Euphoria‘ is set to premiere in April, which means it’s been more than 4 years since the Season 2 finale. Because such a long break has passed, the show jumps forward by about five years. Levinson explained that this felt like the right moment to restart the story, since most characters would have finished college by now. With this jump, the series moves fully into adulthood, giving everyone brand-new challenges to face.

To begin with, Rue’s life takes a major turn. Levinson revealed that she starts the season in Mexico, stuck with a debt to Laurie, and trying to come up with creative ways to pay it off. Meanwhile, Cassie and Nate’s lives look very different as well. Levinson shared that they now live together in the suburbs and are engaged. Cassie spends a lot of time scrolling through social media, comparing her life to her classmates’ glamorous updates. This habit only adds pressure and feeds her insecurity.

Alongside them, Jules is studying at an art school, feeling unsure about her future as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility as much as possible. Maddy has stepped into the Hollywood scene, working as a manager at a talent agency while juggling several side hustles. And Lexi has found herself behind the scenes of television, working as an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone.

Will Cassie And Nate Get A Happy Ending?

After sharing these details, Levinson finally addressed the storyline fans have debated for years: what happens to Cassie and Nate? This time, he thankfully didn’t hold back. He confirmed that the two do, in fact, get married in Season 3. Levinson added that the wedding will be one of the most unforgettable moments in the entire season.

Levinson also mentioned that he strongly believes Season 3 is the show’s best yet. With the characters older and their problems more complicated, the new season gives us a peek into the emotional territory and sets up some of the series’ biggest turning points. As ‘Euphoria‘ enters this new chapter, not every familiar face will return.

Austin Abrams and Algee Smith do not appear on HBO’s updated cast list. Storm Reid previously said that her character, Rue’s sister Gia, would not appear this season. Barbie Ferreira left the series in 2022, and the cast continues to feel the loss of Angus Cloud, who passed away in July 2023.

Most of the original cast still returns for the new season, including Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane, and Colman Domingo. Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fike, and Nika King also come back, along with Alanna Ubach, Daeg Faerch, Melvin Bonez Estes, Paula Marshall, Sophia Rose Wilson, and Zak Steiner.

On top of that, Season 3 welcomes a long list of newcomers: Rosalía, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth and Marshawn Lynch, as well as Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Kadeem Hardison, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, Anna Van Patten, Asante Blackk, Bella Podaras, Bill Bodner, Cailyn Rice, Colleen Camp, Gideon Adlon, Hemky Madera, Homer Gere, Jack Topalian, Jessica Blair Herman, Kwame Patterson, Madison Thompson, Matthew Willig, Rebecca Pidgeon and Sam Trammell.

Even with these changes, the show remains one of HBO’s biggest hits outside its major fantasy franchises. With this huge cast, the time jump, and all the dramatic character changes, Season 3 will be one of the most talked-about TV returns of the year.
