How Harvey Specter And Donna’s Life Changed Since ‘Suits’ Finale

Harvey Specter and Donna had sizzling chemistry since Day 1 of ‘Suits.’ But the show kept dangling their will-they-won’t-they dynamic, teasing feelings, a one-off kiss here, a past hookup there, until the final season. The duo got together and became a power couple.

The show wrapped up in 2019 with Harvey and Donna’s wedding. They left the firm to go do some good. But, it ‘Suits LA’ spinoff, Harvey returned and gave hungry fans some updates about how his personal life is going.

Harvey Specter made a triumphant return to ‘Suits’ spinoff ‘Suits LA’ despite initial hesitation on the part of actor Gabriel Macht. For fans who were trying to connect the two shows, it was revealed that Harvey and ‘Suits LA’ lead, Ted Black, go way back. They are friends. While Harvey is the hotshot corporate lawyer, Ted runs an entertainment-based law firm. Their pasts collided when Ted was a prosecutor in New York and Harvey worked for the District Attorney.

But, the Harvey breadcrumb that got fans excited was about his current life. Yes, he is still married to Donna, and they have started a family. While meeting up in a bar, Harvey receives a text from “My Boy.” The subject of it was adorable: “Daddy, when are you going to call?” Harvey doesn’t quite reveal much about him being a parent, but he has a son. It’s a testament to how much he has grown and battled issues with commitment. In ‘Suits,’ he forgave his mother for cheating on his dad and asked Harvey to lie about it. Donna helped him through the process and Harvey is a better and stable man for it.

We found out another personal detail about Harvey’s journey. After Ted and Harvey managed to put the mob boss who killed Ted’s brother, Eddie, behind bars, the duo shared a last meal to celebrate the victory. This is where Harvey talked about losing his brother Marcus to cancer. In an emotional moment, he asked Ted if the grief, the loss, and the longing ever get easier. The answer? “It depends on the day.” We are just glad Harvey has chosen to live a full life with his own family rather than chasing career highs that left him feeling isolated.

Harvey Specter didn’t just add star power to ‘Suits LA,’ but he was the genius who planned the masterstroke that helped Ted avenge his dead brother, Eddie. You see, a crime lord had to be taken down and Harvey knows how to plot the downfall of a powerful man all those years ago.

Harvey employed slightly illegal means and handed over sensitive documents related to the case that would’ve convicted Pellegrini of racketeering conspiracy to commit murder. However, it backfired at the last moment. And, Ted’s dangerous adversary got just 25 years in prison, with the possibility of parole after 15. This was a sore defeat and the man got out.

So, in the present day, once again these guys suited up to get rid of Pellegrini for good. Harvey walked in with his signature charm and brilliant mind. Once again, the plan required “crossing lines, taking risks, maybe even breaking a few laws.” Ted was game. They insulted Pellegrini when he got out of prison. Harvey made it clear that the hierarchy in his criminal organization had changed in his absence, making this once big baddie paranoid.

In case you missed it: Why Much-Hyped ‘Suits’ Spin-off ‘Suits LA’ Flopped

Ted and Harvey plotted to make it seem like Pellegrini’s second in command, Santoro, had ascended to his old position. They made him turn in exchange for immunity. This was a bitter pill to swallow for Ted since Santoro had planted the bomb that had killed the innocent Eddie. However, Santoro rejected the deal stating he isn’t a rat. What then? His photos of talking to them were the wild card to protect him from Pellegrini’s wrath who might think they were cutting him out. Pellegrini didn’t fall for it and admitted that he was pleased Eddie was killed instead of Ted, who was his intended target. This tormented him more.

The last power move? Harvey had Kevin arrange for Santoro’s car to explode, proving to him loyalty wasn’t guaranteed from Pellegrini. Finally, he flipped. And, everything worked out.

Despite the hype and promise, ‘Suits LA’ failed to impress. So, there will not be a second season. But we are glad we got some more of Harvey Specter’s classic maneuvring and wit once again. And of course, fans can rest easy that his life with Donna is a picture of a happy paradise.
