AMC’s Immortal Universe is about to open a new door, not into another family of vampires or witches, but into the organization that’s been watching them all along. ‘Talamasca: The Secret Order‘ is expanding Anne Rice’s dark and fascinating world with a story that ties everything together from the shadows.
While ‘Interview with the Vampire‘ explores eternal love and loss, and ‘Mayfair Witches‘ unravels centuries of magic and power, ‘Talamasca‘ looks at the people behind the curtain. Such people have been linked to the supernatural for over a thousand years. This is the group that keeps records of vampires like Lestat, watches over witches like the Mayfairs, and tracks every creature that walks between the worlds of the living and the dead. But now, for the first time, we’ll see what happens inside the Order itself.
A Hidden World Comes Into Focus In ‘Talamasca: The Secret Order’

The Talamasca is a secret organisation made up of scholars, spies, and people with unusual abilities. Their mission has always been clear: observe, document, and never interfere. They don’t take sides; they simply watch. In ‘The Secret Order,’ the story begins with Guy Anatole, a young lawyer who can read minds.

When he’s recruited into the Talamasca’s London headquarters, he’s thrown into a world where nothing is as it seems. Guy has spent his whole life searching for answers about who he is, but within the Order’s walls, every answer comes with more questions, and more danger.
Co-showrunner John Lee Hancock described the series as “a spy story with vampires and witches,” blending espionage and horror. The show’s London setting gives it the tone of a cold, shadowy thriller, where every whisper could be a secret and every ally might be a spy.
How The Immortal Universe Connects

What makes Talamasca so important to the Immortal Universe is how deeply the organisation connects the stories we already know. The Talamasca appeared briefly in ‘Interview with the Vampire,’ Season 2, and ‘Mayfair Witches.’ But this series reveals the bigger picture. The Order keeps the entire supernatural balance intact. Its agents have been quietly pulling the strings behind major events, even when we didn’t realise it.

In Rice’s novels, like ‘The Queen of the Damned,’ ‘The Tale of the Body Thief,’ and ‘The Witching Hour,’ the Talamasca always hovered in the background in several mentions. Now, those hints come to life.
We’ll even see some familiar faces from the other shows. Daniel Molloy, the journalist-turned-vampire from Interview with the Vampire, makes an appearance, as does Raglan James, a Talamasca agent seen in the same series. Executive producer Mark Johnson says these cameos are handled carefully: “We only bring in characters when it makes sense. Every crossover has to matter.”
Now, AMC’s goal is to build Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe the way it once built ‘The Walking Dead‘ franchise, with connected but independent stories. ‘Interview with the Vampire‘ is a tragic romance that travels across time and continents. ‘Mayfair Witches‘ is a tale of magic, inheritance, and power. And now, Talamasca brings them together through the organization that’s been keeping their secrets for centuries.
Co-showrunner Mark Lafferty says this is the first time we’ll truly see how the Order operates. “In Mayfair, you just heard whispers of the Talamasca,” he said. “Here, we throw open the door. You finally get to see what’s behind it.”
