‘The Bachelor’ has become one of the favorite guilty pleasures of the American audience. The show has spanned over 21 years with more than 35 seasons, with the first season premiering in 2002. Over the years, the series has gone through considerable changes due to the ever-evolving, sensitive world, the #MeToo movement, and the legal troubles it faced. However, the only constant has been the host, Chris Harrison.
Since the beginning of ‘The Bachelor’ in 2002, Chris Harrison has been the host of original and spin-off series like ‘Bachelor Pad’ and ‘Bachelor in Paradise’. Chris was the host of the series until Tayshia Adams died in 2021. Harrison faced flak for backing racism in the series. Due to that, Chris has to exit the show. Now, the ex-host has come out to speak about the experience of stepping down from duties and how grateful he is for it.

Chris Harrison Called ‘The Bachelor’ A Blessing
‘The Bachelor’ is still running with mild success due to the evolved society and the show’s perpetuation of the old, white, formulaic tropes. However, in recent times, the show has moved a step ahead by featuring Black Bachelor and Bachelorette. In the 25th season, Chris Harrison was called out because he supported Rachael Kirkconnell for her racist behavior.
Chris Harrison was later fired from his job as the host of ‘The Bachelor’. Recently, he appeared on former ‘The Bachelorette’ contestant Jason Tartick’s ‘Trading Secrets’ podcast. During the podcast, Chris said that the show was a blessing.
Chris Harrison said, “The show was a blessing. I still look at this as a blessing in my life. It was hard at first, obviously, it wasn’t immediate where I felt great about everything because what I went through was tumultuous. I don’t wish it on anybody.”

Chris Harrison, during the ‘Trading Secrets’ podcast, said that the situation after the racism row got toxic, and he wanted to be out of the situation. He continued, “But, with that said, I knew I had to remove myself from what became a very toxic situation, and I did, and that was a very difficult situation.”
Chris Harrison added, “I’m proud of that decision. I’m proud that I handled it the way I did and I still look at it as a blessing because it changed my life on so many levels. Financially, of course. It changed my life. It changed my kids’ lives.”
