Season 3 of Netflix‘s ‘Bridgerton‘ was a perfect balance of romantic tension with witty dialogue and the chemistry between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton. As fans now eagerly await the next season, expectations from the sumptuous period drama are soaring.

Nicola Coughlan Enjoyed Taking The Backseat In Season 4
As anticipation builds for season 4, Nicola Coughlan told E! News, “It’s gonna be amazing”. The series is going to be helmed by Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton) and a new addition to the series Yerin Ha (Sophie Baek), who’s also his new love interest. “Luke and Yerin are hard at work now. They’re having such a good time,” Coughlan said.
Season 3 was Nicola’s and Luke Newton’s (Colin Bridgerton) time to take the spotlight. Penelope struggled with her dual identity as both the wallflower and the scandalous gossip columnist Lady Whistledown. But for season 4, Nicola enjoyed a more laid-back role.
“It’s quite nice to take a step back and can let them like do it all,” she admitted. “We’ve been filming for about a month now. But I get to pop in and out, so I get to come to New York which I couldn’t have done last year, so it’s quite nice.”

Moreover, Thompson, who plays Benedict told Tudum,“The storyline is a bit of a twist on ‘Cinderella.’ You remember being told those stories as a child—the magic and the romance of them. It’s really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton … It’s such a great story, but it’s also, I hope, really relatable.”
About the development of the show, showrunner Jess Brownell told The Hollywood Reporter in June, “And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace. We’re trying to speed up but somewhere in that range.”
With season 3 having set the stage for deeper explorations of love and self-exploration, season 4 is going to bring much more captivating stories to fans. That said, there has been no official announcement from the makers yet.
