The fourth and final season of ‘Superman & Lois’ promises to be a rollercoaster of emotions, packed with action, drama, and surprises. The latest trailer of its finale shows Lois, played by Elizabeth Tulloch, stumbling upon Superman after his brutal battle with Doomsday. Her shock and grief are palpable as she realizes the extent of her loss.

In the scene, Lois is accompanied by her two sons Jordan and Jonathan. They are also deeply affected by their father’s death. Despite the devastating scene, showrunners Todd Helbing and Greg Berlanti have assured fans that this is their best season yet.

The Death of Superman, it’s important and poignant,” Fletcher said. “And it turns out it’s a great send-off for our hero and our family and these iconic characters that you care about,” he added.

Speaking further about the upcoming season, Todd Helbing emphasized that the ‘Death of Superman‘ arc could only be executed effectively after multiple seasons of character development. “The reason why that storyline in the comics worked so well is it had the benefit of having years and years and years and years of Superman stories, so it was impactful,” he explained.

He also claimed that with the 43 episodes they had to build up, Clark Kent and Lois were enough to make fans fall in love with them. So, the final season and the moment Lois discovers Clark’s body will be as impactful as it was in the comics. 

Moreover, the showrunners found excitement in the challenge of adapting the ‘Death of Superman‘ storyline. They delved into the possibilities, exploring different avenues and ultimately crafting a unique and compelling narrative. “That excited us as we talked about that and then we came up with the ideas that we found to be really interesting,” Fletcher added.
