Taylor Swift Finally Picks Her Side In ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Conrad-Jeremiah Debate

For years, fans of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty‘ have passionately debated one thing: Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah. But now, the woman whose music became the heartbeat of the series, Taylor Swift, has finally shared her thoughts. And, in true Taylor fashion, her answer captures exactly what makes the show so special.

During her latest ‘On Air with Ryan Seacrest‘ appearance, Taylor spoke about her connection to the series and the way her music has become intertwined with Belly’s story.

Swift’s music has practically shaped ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s emotional DNA. Be it ‘The Way I Loved You (Taylor’s Version)‘ or ‘Out of the Woods,’ her songs have always given the much-needed voice to the scenes scripts couldn’t do justice to. But as close as the songs were to us, turns out, the show is equally cherished by Taylor herself.

While promoting her latest album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Swift was asked a question that every fan has debated online. Is she for Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah? And the answer she gave was quite unexpected.

Surprisingly, while answering, Swift didn’t take sides. Instead, she said, she was “Team Summer I Turned Pretty.” Taylor added, “This show has, when I tell you that this show has completely used my music in the most thoughtful, beautiful ways and with these important moments in Belly’s life. I’m just, I’m here for whatever is next. I support your choices, girl.

In that one sentence, she turned the debate on its head without picking any sides. Instead of going for Conrad or Jeremiah, she chose to appreciate Belly’s growth, her emotions, and her coming-of-age storyline.

Does Taylor Relate To Belly?

As we already know, Taylor Swift is engaged to Travis Kelce, and we all witnessed glimpses of the dreamy proposal. This is a changed Taylor we’re seeing now. She’s calm, content, and happy, like someone who’s finally found her own kind of summer love. In a way, she’s not so different from Belly, who spent years trying to figure out what love really means.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), Belly had to make a choice between two very different people, and more importantly, between two versions of herself. And, if Swifties can recall, Taylor has been there, too. She’s lived through love stories that everyone talked about, where every move she made became the next hot topic of discussion.

But like Belly, she eventually outgrew it. Now, she has learned how to follow her heart without worrying about what anyone else thinks. So, when she says her music comes from “inside Belly’s mind,” it’s easy to see why. Because Taylor knows what it’s like to be Belly. The feeling of standing between what’s comfortable and what’s possible, and choosing the one right for you.

As fans know, ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty‘ ended its third season with Belly choosing Conrad Fisher, played by Christopher Briney, after years of back-and-forth feelings between him and his brother, Jeremiah Fisher. The love triangle that defined the series found closure. Still, with the movie in development focusing on Belly’s story, fans are already wondering whether more of Taylor’s music will return to set the tone once again.
