“There will probably be lots of deaths,” he said. “I feel lots and lots of pressure to end it well … If we can stick the landing then people will be like, ‘that was a great show’. But if we shit the bed, people will say, ‘Oh, it was a good show, but then they shit the bed,” he added.
Kripke’s statement aligns with the graphic and violent nature of ‘The Boys’ comics, which feature numerous character deaths and shocking plot twists. While the show has already deviated from the comics in several ways, a comic-accurate ending could be satisfying.
He further emphasized the shock value of the final season, claiming that there could be a lot of shocking deaths happening all the time. Moreover, this also proved to be true with season 4 when one of the most powerful supe’s, Victoria Neuman was killed.

Almost all of the lead protagonists lose their lives after Billy Butcher goes berserk with the supe killing the virus. Hughie is the sole survivor, ultimately killing Butcher. Moreover, in ‘The Boys‘ Season 4, we see Butcher’s descent into darkness as he becomes consumed by his desire for revenge.
He acquires new powers and becomes a formidable threat to both supes and humans alike. The Boys team is scattered, with many members captured by Vought. This leaves Butcher free to pursue his deadly mission. While the series has not yet reached the same level of carnage as the comic ending, the trajectory is similar.
Butcher’s transformation into a ruthless killer mirrors the comic’s portrayal of his character. Moreover, the setup for a Homelander clone suggests that the series may be moving towards a similar conclusion. A bloody and shocking finale is in store for fans.
