HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ is yet to return with Season 3, but not without a twist. Surprisingly enough, the drama is unfolding behind the scenes. Major creative developments have led to the recasting of a key character.
Naturally, after Pedro Pascal’s exit as Joel Miller, the upcoming season marks a significant turning point for the series’ narrative. Now, there’ll be fresh faces joining the cast, including the Manny actor. So, the next chapter may look very different from what audiences originally expected.
Jorge Lendeborg Jr. Replaces Danny Martinez As Manny In ‘The Last Of Us’

Based on the popular PlayStation video game of the same name, HBO’s ‘The Last of Us‘ is set in a post-apocalyptic world where a fungal infection has turned much of humanity into aggressive infected creatures, causing society to collapse.
Jorge Lendeborg Jr. has officially joined Season 3, replacing Danny Martinez in the role of Manny. Viewers are already aware that Manny is a member of the Washington Liberation Front (WLF), the faction that helped Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby track down Joel. Abby’s end goal was always to kill Ellie’s guardian, as he was responsible for her father’s death.

Manny will hold significant sway as one of Abby’s close allies in the third season. He is tough, loyal to the cause, and does everything to complete missions. To Abby, he remains a trusted friend, and when needed, he transforms into a capable warrior. Martinez reportedly had to exit the show due to scheduling conflicts, leading to Lendeborg stepping in as the new face of Manny for Season 3.
A Bigger Role For The Seraphites

Meanwhile, Clea DuVall has also been cast in Season 3, playing a member of the Seraphites – a mysterious and deeply religious group in ‘The Last of Us.’ They are known for their strict beliefs, minimalist lifestyle, and their unsettling method of communication through coded whistles.

So far, the Seraphites have largely remained in the background of the HBO series, with only brief glimpses and hints of their presence. However, that is expected to change in the future, where the group will likely take on a much more prominent role in the story.
These casting changes suggest that the new season could shift its focus toward different character perspectives. As a result, fans are now left wondering how the familiar game might be reshaped on TV. But whatever happens, Ellie’s journey is bound to get darker and more emotional with grief, anger, and survival instincts driving her forward.
