‘The White Lotus’ Heads To France In Season 4 But With A Big Change

The world of ‘The White Lotus‘ is once again preparing to open its gilded doors to new guests, fresh secrets, and more uncomfortable truths. But as speculations spread about its next chapter, fans are learning that Season 4 won’t just bring a new location. This time, it’s breaking away from a tradition that defined the show’s identity. So, what’s prompting this sudden change behind the change?

Each season of ‘The White Lotus‘ has had its own vibe. We started with Hawaii, where things were all sunshine and tension. Then came Sicily with its messy relationships and drama-filled villas. And most recently, Thailand brought us revenge and secrets in the middle of paradise. Now, Season 4 is heading to France. Yep, you read that right.

According to Variety, the show will take place in Paris and along the French Riviera. The idea is to capture two very different sides of France: the glitz and glamour of the coast and the chic chaos of the capital. It actually sounds a lot like how Season 3 played out.  Remember how part of it was filmed in Thailand’s Koh Samui and part in Bangkok? That’s making a comeback, only this time with croissants and ocean views.

But that’s not the only twist. The show is saying goodbye to something major that’s been there since the beginning.

Saying Goodbye To The Four Seasons

For the first time ever, ‘The White Lotus‘ won’t be filmed at a Four Seasons resort. Every single season so far has used one; from the Four Seasons in Hawaii to the one in Sicily, and then Thailand. They’ve kind of become part of the show’s identity, always giving that ultra-rich vacation feel. But HBO has decided not to continue its partnership with the hotel chain. Instead, they’re going a different route.

That means we’ll still get beautiful settings, but the vibe might be a bit different this time. Maybe, even a little more French and sophisticated. Don’t worry, though, because there’s still plenty of glamour to go around. The team has reportedly been looking at luxury spots like Le Lutetia, a famous hotel on Paris’s Left Bank where legends like Charlie Chaplin, Pablo Picasso, and Josephine Baker once stayed.

There’s also talk of ‘The Ritz Paris’, which has hosted everyone from Coco Chanel to F. Scott Fitzgerald. So yeah, expect elegance, champagne, and probably some scandal. Now that the location’s set, fans can’t help but wonder who’s checking in next.

The Casting Speculations Are High

The show’s creator, Mike White, hasn’t revealed much yet, but the pattern from previous seasons gives us a clue. Remember how some characters, like Tanya, Greg, and Belinda, popped up in more than one season? Even though Tanya’s story ended in a pretty unforgettable way, Greg and Belinda’s stories still have room to grow. So, there’s always a chance we might see familiar faces again.

Casting hasn’t started yet, but the show usually mixes American stars with local actors. Season 2 gave us Italy’s Sabrina Impacciatore, and Season 3 featured Thailand’s Tayme Thapthimthong, Lek Patravadi, and even Blackpink’s Lisa. So, maybe this time we’ll see some famous French faces join the chaos. Filming for Season 4 is expected to begin in 2026, which means we’ve got a bit of a wait before we find out who’s checking in next.

It’s kind of exciting that ‘The White Lotus‘ is moving away from the Four Seasons resorts. Sure, they were gorgeous, but after three seasons, it’s nice to see something fresh. Each season has peeled back the lives of wealthy travellers in new ways, and the French setting feels perfect for more drama, romance, and uncomfortable truths.
