‘House of the Dragon’ is now a go-to show for a lot of people. The fantasy drama is set around 200 years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones‘. Defying expectations, the HBO show has met with mostly positive critical reception and impressive TV ratings. It is based on the portions of George R. R. Martin’s 2018 book ‘Fire & Blood‘.
While the acting, screenplay, and costumes have been praised, there is one thing that has irked hardcore fans. It is the title sequence of the show that was unveiled in the second episode. Fans have expressed their disappointment on social media regarding the reuse of the iconic theme from the parent show.

‘House Of The Dragon’ Reuses The Iconic GOT Theme
The title sequence and the main theme of ‘House of the Dragon‘ were revealed in the second episode ‘The Rogue Prince.’ Fans are not happy with it as the makers have reused the music of ‘Game of Thrones.’
Centered around the House Targaryen and their eventual downfall, the show’s brief title sequence has blood pouring through a model of Old Valyria. The makers did not even bother to use an original song for it.
This has upset a lot of fans of the original theme music. “Wait… we’re just gonna reuse the GoT theme for HoTD opening credits?”, a user wrote.

Another fan complained, “HOTD opening credits did nothing for me… the visuals were illegible… and they should have at least used a variation on the main THRONES theme…???”
Some were quick to make fun of the theme. “A spin-off show can’t just use the theme song of the show it was spun off from. Where would we be as a society if ‘Frasier’ just reused the theme from ‘Cheers?’”, a user joked.
