Since ‘Veep,’ HBO’s portfolio has lacked a bulky political satire. ‘White House Plumbers‘ is here to scratch that itch away. Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux lead the limited series about political operatives E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy. They were responsible for reinstating Richard Nixon to another term of Presidency.
It sounds like a dream gig for a couple of patriots, right? No spoilers here, but in their attempts to win Nixon another four years of Presidency, they cross every possible line. The straw that broke the camel’s back was the decision to break into Watergate Office Building in Washington, DC.

All About ‘White House Plumbers’ Plot
From the looks of its trailer, the series seems to have a solid comedic bite. Political masterminds E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy (Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux) join forces to protect and serve the U.S. administration against press leaks. Plumbers, as they were code-named, eventually turned out to be bumbling fools way over their heads.
‘White House Plumbers‘ is based on the book ‘Integrity: Good People, Bad Choices, and Life Lessons from the White Hou’e‘ by Egil Krogh and Matthew Krogh. The book is an account of the group named White House Plumbers who thwarted the very leadership they swore to protect. The group infamously broke into the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee and was caught by the Department Of Justice. Famously dubbed the Watergate Scandal, it cost Richard Nixon his presidency.
