‘House of the Dragon‘ Season 2 finale introduced a breath of fresh air in the form of Admiral Sharako Lohar, a formidable pirate captain from the Triarchy. Played with captivating energy by YouTuber Abigail Thorn, Lohar quickly became a fan favorite.
Moreover, her wit and combat prowess were very different from the usual. Additionally, the character of Lohar is based on the admiral mentioned in George R.R. Martin‘s ‘Fire & Blood.’ However, the showrunners have taken significant liberties with the character.

Admiral Lohar In ‘House Of The Dragon’ Is Very Different From ‘Fire And Blood’
In the book, Lohar is depicted as a more straightforward figure, lacking the charisma and complexity brought to life by Thorn. Additionally, this adaptation has not only added depth to the character but also introduced a refreshing element of diversity and inclusivity to Westeros.
Lohar’s introduction was tied to Tyland Lannister’s desperate bid to secure a Triarchy alliance for the Greens. The unorthodox negotiation tactic: a mud wrestling match, was definitely a surprising and entertaining twist.
Moreover, Tyland’s unexpected victory earned him Lohar’s respect. Which later gets him into another awkward situation. Furthermore, their alliance is pivotal in the ongoing Targaryen civil war. Lohar’s role in the larger story is still unfolding.

Admiral Sharako Lohar Was A Major Hurdle For The Blacks During The Dance Of The Dragons
In the book, Lohar is depicted as a male figure who plays a pivotal role in the Triarchy’s involvement in the Dance of the Dragons. Moreover, as commander of the Triarchy fleet, Lohar is a major part of the Battle of the Gullet which was between the Velaryon and Triarchy fleets.
He strategically decided to split his fleet to attack the land base of the Velaryon fleet. As a result, the Velaryons suffered heavy losses including the tragic death of Prince Jacaerys and his dragon Vermax. Additionally, one of the most intriguing aspects of Lohar’s character is his connection to Prince Viserys Targaryen.
After capturing the young prince, Lohar sells him to a Lysene magister. This act, while cruel, inadvertently preserves the Targaryen bloodline. Additionally, the book also reveals a tragic end for Lohar. His murder is pinpointed as the catalyst for the war between the Free Cities, a conflict that further destabilizes Westeros. Moreover, the circumstances surrounding his death remain shrouded in mystery. However, theories suggest that it might’ve been a result of personal vendetta.
