‘Naruto’ is one of the most popular anime of all time. The anime is part of the big three of the anime world and almost every anime viewer has heard of the anime if not watched. The anime is famous for many aspects, but one of the most famous things about the anime is the characters. One fan-loved character is Hatake Kakashi.
Kakashi is very much loved by the fans and he is most definitely one of the best characters in the anime. However, that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t done some horrible things in his life. Here are the top 8 most horrible things Hatake Kakashi has done.

8) Lying To Naruto
Uzumaki Naruto spent most of his childhood being hated by the villagers for something that he didn’t even know. Kakashi was among the few people who knew the truth about Naruto’s parentage. He was aware that he was Minato and Kushina’s son but he never said a word to him. Kakashi could have told the truth to Naruto and that could’ve made his childhood better.
7) Wasn’t A Good Teacher To Sasuke
After Orochimaru interfered in the chunin exam, Sasuke was hospitalized. Orochimaru was weirdly obsessed with Sasuke and he gave him his mark. Kakashi employed Anbu around his hospital room and everything, but he wasn’t a good mentor to him. He did not try to talk to Sasuke or try to keep him away from the temptation. This is one of the most horrible things Kakashi did.
6) Neglecting Sakura
Kakashi taught Sasuke and Naruto about various things and he paid great attention to them. However, he didn’t do much for his third student, Sakura. Sakura was very smart and great at chakra control, her problem was that she froze in some situations. As her teacher, Kakashi should have noticed this and helped her overcome her fears. However, he did not and focused only on Naruto and Sasuke.
5) Ignoring Sasuke And Naruto’s Rivalry
Hatake Kakashi was in a similar situation to Naruto and Sasuke when he was young. He had an intense rivalry with Obito, but the two were able to solve it. That however was not the case with his students. Kakashi knowingly ignored their rivalry. He could have talked to both of them and shown them ways to channel it properly. However, he simply ignored it. This is one of the most horrible things Kakashi did.
4) Spied On Sarutobi
Sarutobi was the Third Hokage of Konoha. Kakashi was a prodigy and he got selected to be a part of the Anbu root. However, unfortunately for him, he was manipulated by Danzo. Due to Danzo’s words, Kakashi started believing that Sarutobi was incapable, old, and a fool. He spied on the third Hokage for Danzo. This is one of the most horrible things Kakashi did.
3) Rule Following
Kakashi’s father was one of the finest ninjas of Konoha but he was shunned by the villagers because he chose to ignore the mission to save people. Due to this, Kakashi got traumatized and followed every rule and didn’t care about his teammates. He saw them as nothing more than tools and didn’t care about their well-being. He almost abandoned Rin and Obito to complete the mission instead of helping them.
2) Blaming His Father
As mentioned above, Sakumo Hatake was one of the greatest Shinobi of Konoha. His choice of saving his comrades over completing the mission got him shunned. As a result, he took his own life. Kakashi instead of valuing the choice his father made, blamed him instead. He considered his actions to be wrong and decided that he would always follow the rules regardless of anything.
1) Teaching Chidori
Kakashi was never a good mentor to Sasuke. He wasn’t able to make Sasuke see the error of his ways. However, he taught him Chidori, which is a powerful technique. This is something that Kakashi should have avoided considering that he was aware of Sasuke’s mental health. He should have mentored him instead of teaching him an attack that he later uses against the village multiple times. This is one of the most horrible things Kakashi did.
