Is Chainsaw Man Based On A Manga? Everything You Need To Know

Chainsaw Man is currently one of the most trending topics among anime fanatics as it has touched the top of the ranking boards and has yet to show any sign of slowing down.

If you are questioning whether the uprising anime is from a manga, then yes you are right! ‘Chainsaw Man‘ has been drawn from the famous manga of the same name written by Tatsuki Fujimoto. His manga gained soaring popularity ever since it started. The idea is quite fresh, though some can relate it to another popular manga ‘Solo Leveling‘. Some of the aspects match, like how both characters are at the rock bottom of the food chain but swiftly gain power after undergoing a massive transformation.

Chainsaw Man‘ surrounds the four main characters along with some adorable and entertaining side characters. Denji is the protagonist of the story and his adorable pet Pochita also comes under this category. Apart from them, we have Makima, Aki, and Power.

Chainsaw Man‘ is now not only in manga form but has also got its anime adaptation recently. Talks about it have been going on for quite a long time, and fans can finally take a relief break after googling its first aired episode.

Fujimoto talked about writing the 2nd series of the story while the first part got its episode aired on October 11 on Crunchyroll. The 2nd episode will also air soon and one can find their subbed version on this very platform.

Being one of the most highly anticipated anime of the year, ‘Chainsaw Man‘ follows the path of Denji who along with his Devil pet Pochita tries to climb up the ladder through Devil hunting. Typically based on a Devil-verse, the story progresses as the protagonist faces death but comes out stronger than before.

Though Devils are hunted in their universe, Pochita becomes one of the most endearing characters who save the life of Denji in a crisis, turning him into a literal ‘chainsaw man’. But this transformation takes place during fights and the action scenes have been well depicted.

    The Story’s Development

Adapted by the Studio MAPPA, one can have high expectations of it, especially regarding the quality. Some of the popular shows under this studio include ‘Attack on Titan: Final Part‘, and ‘Jujutsu Kaisen‘. Given the studio’s reputation, ‘Chainsaw Man‘ can turn out to be one of the best animes of this year.

The protagonist faces, betrayal, ironically enjoys a huge pile of debt left by his father, nearly dies at the hands of his trusted fellows, revives, and paves his way through the crowd. In his journey, the Public Safety Devil Hunter Makima takes him under her wing and lets him join the squad.

Shortly characters like Power and Aki are introduced who are struggling with their own backstory and fighting off devils as a team. Though these four start on a rocky platform, they slowly get attached to each other, calling themselves family.

The manga has beautifully shown the part where the human mind is the very source of creating these devils. They feed off human negativity, grow stronger, and lure humans into signing contracts with them, in the pretense of lending them the devil’s power.

The first episode has already caught hold of the viewer’s attention in a flash. The ratings have been booming ever since. Reviews and talks about it are already on the way. If you want to catch up with the anime version story, now is high time for that. The 2nd episode will release shortly, most probably tomorrow, October 18. Keep your eyes out for further updates.
