What Is ‘Studio Ghibli’ Theme Park?
In 2022, a theme park opened in the Aichi prefecture in Japan. It opened on November 1 2022 after the disruptions caused by COVID-19. The park is divided into five areas. The areas are Hill of youth, Ghibli’s largest warehouse, Mononoke’s village, Valley of witches, and Dondoko forest.
There are various indoor attractions in the park, such as a gallery, play areas, and a video gallery. The characters on whom the five parts have been based will feature in those particular areas. For instance, Princess Mononoke will be on display in Mononoke village. The theme park focuses more on its art and the movies rather than having rides and focusing on the thrill.
Men Who Groped The Statues Apologised
In a disheartening incident, a group of three men was found to be groping the statues in the ‘Studio Ghibli’ Theme park. The pictures were posted on Twitter in late February. They created an outrage among visitors as well as fans. Many people became hesitant to bring their children to the park for fear of such an incident happening in front of their children.
Hideaki Omura, the governor of the Aichi prefecture, showcased his disapproval and disappointment in such people. He even stated that if people were to come here to do such things, then they shouldn’t be visiting the Ghibli park at all. The governor states that these people would receive legal punishment for their actions.
However, a few days ago the three men had apologized for their actions and showed genuine remorse. A known person (not involved in the incident) of the three men approached the park and conveyed the group’s guilt and said that they didn’t know how to apologize. The three men met the governor and apologized for their actions.
Hideaki Omura, who was adamant about legally punishing the men, softened a little after meeting them. He said that their remorse was genuine and didn’t punish them legally. He said that he considers the matter closed.
