‘One Piece’ harbors several arcs in its elongated ongoing series, yet Thriller Bark is one of the creepiest arcs fans have encountered. Just like the sound of its name, it spreads the vibe of creepiness, scary zombies, mysteries, and an air of death. Luffy and his crew stumble upon this island known as Thriller Bark during their journey to Raftel.
Prior to the start of the arc, there’s been an indication of how people went missing after crossing a certain part of the sea. They even say that no one entering that part of the ocean has ever successfully come out alive. As we know Luffy who loves this type of adventurous stuff, gets intrigued. Though it’s appropriate to say fate/Oda had already attached its string with the Straw Hats crew.

What Is Thriller Bark?
Thriller Bark is a floating island that is ruled by one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Gecko Moria. He’s a huge person with creepy powers. He can cut anyone’s shadow and store it in inanimate objects, giving them life. Without one’s shadow, the person is unable to go in the sun, thus making them dweller in the dark.
Luffy and his crew are ‘invited’ to the island after they accidentally set off their attention signal. Nevertheless, this creepy island gives our captain Luffy the best thrill as he marches on exploring the land. Apart from Moria, three others of his main forces remain on the island, making them the Mysterious Four. They are extremely powerful, and rob people of the shadows.

Who Are The Mysterious Four?
The Mysterious Four of the Thriller Bark island and the only humans to rule over are – Gecko Moria, Hogback, Absalom, and Perona. They ruled over all the other zombies inhabiting the island and were the nightmare of the human pirates whose shadows they stole.
Gecko Moria used his devil fruit power to heighten his magic after getting awfully defeated by Kaidou in a battle. He lost many of his members so he seeks powers and is mostly obsessed to cross one of the emperors. Hogback becomes a powerful supporter of his idea and does his best to fulfill his wish.

Absalom was the leader of the Zombie soldiers and the Zombie generals. His pure strength to hold an opponent down is no joke. Furthermore, his invisible power earns him an advantage in his battles. Perona had the most interesting ability. It gave us a good laugh when used on the Straw Hats.
Luffy and Zoro’s reaction after encountering the ghost was priceless, and let’s not forget Sanji who teased Zoro endlessly after that. Anyways, she has the power to manipulate and use ghost-like beings for her bidding. The ghosts penetrating a person’s body can make them think negatively and even give up on a fight instantly. Well, this is powerful right?
