Officially confirming the rumours, ‘Rick and Morty‘ finally get a manga adaptation and have already hooked us to our seats. Oni-Lion Forge Publishing Group, also known as Oni Press, in collaboration with the Warner Brothers, announced the launch of a manga adaptation of critically acclaimed anime.
‘Rick and Morty‘ will be written by Alissa Salrah and illustrated by JeyOdin. Known for its perfect blend of pop-culture humour with the world of anime, this dysfunctional duo has already won hearts. So what this manga is all about? And, is it worth all the hype?
The Manga Adaptation
When an award-winning publishing house, known for being the creator of a manga that turned out to be the masterpiece for the decade, you know you are in for some magic as the first part is scheduled to be a light-hearted spoof, of ‘Attack on Titan‘. Known for her contributions to some renowned projects, namely, ‘Yakuza 6: Song of Life‘, fandom is already full of curiosity wondering what the author Alissa Salrah can bring to the table.
Senior Editor Bess Pallares shared an official statement for ‘Rick and Morty: The Manga‘, stating, “Rick and Morty have always skewered and elevated pop culture tropes through an irreverent lens, and Get in the Robot, Morty! takes on the beloved genre of mech-fighting manga with that characteristic sardonic flair. Fans of adult animation who’ve followed from Toonami’s Midnight Run to Adult Swim’s ‘Rick and Morty’ are going to find characters, humour, heart and of course bloody, outrageous battles they know and love in these pages. If anyone could make Gendo Ikari look like a reasonable parent, it’s Rick Sanchez.”
