Many anime watchers even mock the concept and believe that many strong and popular characters would have lost had it not been for that power. Anime however doesn’t only offer friendships. Many anime contain enmity, rivalry, and hate between many characters. Whilst hate and enmity are popular concepts among anime watchers, the rivalry has a place of its own.

10) Goku And Vegeta
The rivalry between Goku and Vegeta is one that almost every child has seen at one point in their lives. Asta and Yuno are the perfect examples of friends who are rivals. Yuno is a prodigy and Asta did not possess any magical talent. This makes Asta a little jealous and he wishes to surpass Yuno. Alexander Anderson is a Vatican priest who possesses supernatural abilities and Alucard is an immensely powerful vampire. It seems only natural that the two of them would have a rivalry. Both of them try to destroy the other constantly. Their opposite natures cause them to butt heads.

Nagisa and Karma are friends, but when it comes to assassination they are each other’s biggest rivals. Their rivalry was quite low-key until their fight in season 2. Their rivalry borders on enmity. There are multiple horrible things that Dio has done and some he did just for the sake of pissing Jonathan off. Hashirama and Madara used to be best friends. They were also responsible for the creation of the Konoha village. Naruto and Sasuke have a more tragic rivalry than bitter. The two of them never got along since the start, but they started caring for each other. However, this all vanished when Sasuke’s need for revenge overpowered everything else. Whilst Naruto gave his all to bring him back, he did consider Sasuke to be his rival.

Bakugo has hated Midoriya ever since they were young because he didn’t have a quirk. He hated him more when he found out that Midoriya for a quirk and they now went to the same school. Midoriya on the other hand never hated Bakugo and considered him his friend. This doesn’t change the fact that Midoriya and Bakugo are bitter rivals and try to outdo each other.
