Is Ecchi Illegal In The United States?
Ecchi is not outrightly illegal in the United States. Ecchi consists of some mature themes but it is not deemed illegal in the US. That doesn’t mean that all kinds of Ecchi anime are legal in the States. Anime consisting of sexual stuff and jokes that involve minors is illegal. These anime are generally put in the subgenre of shota or lolicon. These anime are very much illegal in the States. According to the law, any fictional mature stuff that shows a person that is definitely minor is not allowed in the US. However, if the age is not mentioned and it is not definitive that the character is a minor, it is not considered illegal. Whilst Ecchi most definitely is not outright illegal, it is not endorsed in the country either.
