Why Is Ash Ketchum Leaving?
Ash Ketchum has been the protagonist of ‘Pokemon‘ for over 25 years. He has been the companion for all the kids when they were growing up. Ash wanted to be a ‘Pokemon‘ master and win a trophy in a major league. He has had many companions, both human and ‘Pokemon‘ on this journey with him throughout the new regions and seasons.
In a historical moment for the viewers, Ash Ketchum won the Masters Eight Tournament of the ‘Pokémon‘ World Coronation Series. He has then crowned the world champion which was always his dream. After the win, fans started wondering what could be new in his journey and whether he would continue being on the show.
Clearing up the doubts, Tokyo TV confirmed that Ash’s journey will be wrapped in an 11-episode series airing on January 13, 2023. This implies that Ash will no longer be the protagonist of the show but it is unclear if he will not be seen on the show altogether.

On December 16, 2022, the official Twitter channel of ‘Pokemon‘ posted a tweet that unveiled the new protagonists of the show. In the trailer, it was seen that the new protagonists are going to be a girl and a boy named Riko and Roy.
The series is unnamed as of now, but it will take place in the Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea region. The trailer did not provide the fans with extensive information, but it gave them enough to excite them about the new series.
The three starter Pokemon of the region were also introduced namely Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Fans were also able to see a shiny Rayquaza in the trailer. Fans are excited as they get to be a part of the journey of Riko and Roy, the new protagonists, and are curious about what the road holds for them.
