The movie, ‘Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’ is set after Tanjiro meets the 9 Hashira and their leader. The leader asks Tanjiro to join the demon slayer corps and help them in hunting down Muzan. The movie follows Tanjiro and Rengoku, the flame Hashira as they board a train that is said to host a demon that has killed many Hashira and innocents in the past.

Why Is The Movie Rated R In The USA?
The movie was released in October 2020 in theatres all over Japan. The national movie regulator board in Japan rated the movie PG 12. This means that it is advised that children under the age of 12 do not watch the movie but it does not state that they need to be accompanied by an adult in the film theatre.
The USA however, is a little stricter when it comes to these things. In the USA the movie was rated R, which means restricted. This entails that anyone below the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult in the theatres. If they fail to do so, they may not watch the movie. Generally, this is done when the movie has mature scenes or highly violent scenes. In the case of ‘Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’, this was done because of the violent scenes of the movie.
The laws in certain countries are even stricter than in America. In Singapore, the movie is banned for anyone who is under the age of 16. This means they cannot watch the movie even if they were accompanied by an adult. This is why the movie is rated R in the USA but not in Japan.
