The series ‘Dragon Ball‘ has been released for more than 40 years and has been reflecting the true spirit of anime and manga for people all around the globe with invigorating fights, warm-hearted characters, and a fine plot.

However, for devoted fans, the question on everyone’s mind is: Will ‘Dragon Ball‘ ever come back? Well, there is heavy speculation about more episodes of the sequel ‘Dragon Ball Super‘. Here’s all we know about it.

On Hold But Never Forgotten: A Bittersweet Pause For ‘Dragon Ball Super’

To date, ‘Dragon Ball Super‘ has not had any new episodes since the final season called the ‘Tournament of Power‘. However, this has been off-air since the beginning of 2018, and fans still eagerly await the return of the show.

But as fans are now seeing, they may not be done with the franchise yet. The most persuasive sign of this potential return is derived from the official manga which is expected to continue from May 2024, but with a small break.

In the chapter ‘A Legacy Toward The Future,’ Gohan turns into his Beast form, and the shift in the series indicates that Goku and Vegeta may no longer be needed to protect the Earth. This chapter also gave a nod to Akira Toriyama, and was the introduction of new character arcs that might define the future of the additional series.

However, with the sad demise of the author Akira Toriyama in March 2024, fans are left guessing what will happen to the series. However, as long as Toyotarou is at the helm, many people do remain optimistic about the spirit of Dragon Ball continuing.

One of the main reasons ‘Dragon Ball Super’ deserves a comeback is its popularity among its fans. Dragon Ball remains a staple both in the anime and manga since its inception.

Moreover, for works like ‘Dragon Ball Daima‘, questions have emerged about why the original anime has been set aside. Nonetheless, arcs such as Granolah and Moro seem to be perfect for adaptation because they provide few opportunities for new animated content.
