A film that had style, fashion, and substance, has to be Anne Hathaway starrer ‘The Devil Wears Prada’. The film was opulent, with pomp, New York fashion, and snootiness at its best. It had the best quotable dialogues like “Is there a reason that my coffee isn’t here? Has she died or something?” It was slick, sassy, and full of glamor. Meryl Streep graced the screens along with the aspirational yet unbothered Anne Hathaway and the perfect Emily Blunt.
The film released in 2006 was an adaptation of Lauren Weisberger’s ‘The Devil Wears Prada’. The character of Miranda Priestly played by Streep was loosely based on the Vogue editor Anna Wintour. It is still an iconic film after 16 years of its release. So, is it the right time for a sequel? The actress Anne Hathaway has the answer to it.

“That Movie Was In A Different Era”: Anne Hathaway On A Possible Sequel To ‘The Devil Wears Prada’
The ‘Brokeback Mountain’ actress appeared on the ABC Show ‘The View’. On the show, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin asked Anne the million-dollar question (or a Prada-bag-worthy one!) – will there be a sequel to the David Frankel directorial drama ‘The Devil Wears Prada’? To this Hathaway was not sure if it can be made in today’s digitized age. Anne responded, “I don’t think there can be.”
She answered, “I just think that movie was in a different era. Now, everything has gone so digital, and that movie centered around the concept of producing a physical thing, and it’s just very different now”. The film was a story of an aspirational, dreamy journalist, Andy Sachs, who lands a job at a fashion magazine run by the head-high, snooty, and determined Miranda Priestly.
Along with these two acting tour de force, there are other two fun characters played by Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. Though the sequel is not anywhere near the horizon, Anne Hathaway had an amazing plot if there comes a sequel. As per the actress, “It is tempting to think about Andy and Emily needing to get Miranda her coffee and she’s somewhere in Europe and then along the way they pick up Stanley Tucci in Italy, who’s at a restaurant.”
Even if the idea is tempting, Hathaway thinks, “It’s tempting, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. They could relaunch it, get some new people and do it.”

“I Wonder If Anybody’s Going To Notice”: The Actress Recalls A Coincidence Related To The Ending Of The Film
‘The Princess Diaries’ actress recalled a happy coincidence that happened in September 2022. The film is based on the novel Lauren Weisberg, a former employee of Anna Wintour. The actress was at the New York Fashion Week, where she met Anna Wintour, on whom the character of Miranda Priestly is loosely based.
During Fashion Week, Anna ended up wearing the same outfit that resembled her look at the end of the film when she and Meryl’s character meet after she leaves the organization. During the scene, she wore a black turtleneck with a brown leather jacket.
Hathaway recalled, “It just happened. I was supposed to wear something else, Michael Kors sent over two beautiful outfits and the shoes didn’t fit on the one that I thought I was going to wear, and the other one happened to be that one.”
The actress continued, “I was working with a new hairstylist, and he was like, ‘Oh, a turtleneck, let’s put your hair up in a ponytail,'” Hathaway recalled. “I looked in the mirror on the way out the door and I was like, oh, that’s kind of funny, I wonder if anybody’s going to notice?”
