Brendan Fraser Talks About An Accident On ‘The Mummy’ Set
One of the most important films in Brendan Fraser’s career has to be ‘The Mummy‘ franchise. He played the role of Rick O’Connell in the horror trilogy which was well-received.
On Tuesday, the 54-year-old actor appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show where he talked about one horrible incident on the sets of the film. In one scene, a rope was tied around his neck and he was standing on his toes.
However, the director Stephen Sommers wasn’t convinced and asked him to sell it. Fraser said that the man pulled the rope a bit higher and he had “nowhere to go but down.”
“The next thing I knew, my elbow was in my ear, the world was sideways, and there was gravel in my teeth, and everyone was really quiet,” the actor recalled. He remembers gaining back his consciousness.

Fraser Calls The Incident “Scary”
After gaining consciousness, a crew member told Fraser: ‘Congratulations, you’re in the club! The same thing happened to Mel Gibson on ‘Braveheart.’” He said that he was not “fully choked-out,” but it was still “scary” for him.
Sommers, the director of the film, blames Fraser for that mishap. He feels Fraser tighten the noose as he was “trying to make it look like it’s really strangling him.” In response, Fraser said that it was his fault that the was “following direction from my director to sell it.”
Fraser made a comeback last year with Darren Aronofsky’s drama ‘The Whale.’ The film and his performance have been well received. He has also bagged numerous accolades.
