The eldest of all eight siblings, Anthony had a troubled relationship with the rest of the family because of his alcohol abuse. Madonna had often helped him financially but in the last few weeks, she stopped taking support from anyone.

Throughout his life, Anthony struggled with alcohol addiction and was also homeless for several years. He was living under a bridge in Michigan for years and was struggling financially.

In 2017, he completed a program at a rehab facility and got back with his family. In 2011, he talked in an interview about how his family did not care for him and his father’s death

I’m a zero in their eyes — a non-person. I’m an embarrassment. If I froze to death, my family probably wouldn’t know or care about it for six months,” he said.
