    Brendan Fraser was Superman. Well, almost. The front runner for this year’s Best Actor Oscar turned up to ‘The Howard Stern Show‘. He talked to Howard Stern about his life and the craft of acting. ‘The Whale‘ actor opened up about the Superman audition that didn’t go well.

    Brendan Fraser is up for an Oscar this year for his performance in ‘The Whale.’ He discussed his career’s missed opportunities and challenges of playing Charlie in ‘The Whale.’ He also talked to the eccentric talk show host about his beginnings in the movie business.

    Brendan Fraser Was Hesitant To Play Superman

    The Whale‘ actor on ‘The Howard Stern Show

    Howard Stern wasted no moment asking Brendan Fraser about his failed Superman audition. J.J. Abrams was developing a Superman movie project titled ‘Flyby.’ The casting was massive, with six or seven actors being considered yearly.

    Brendan opened up on what went wrong, saying, “Of course it’s a life-changing, amazing opportunity, but I had to reconcile with, ‘Okay, say you do get the job to be the Man of Steel. It’s going to be chipped on your gravestone. Are you okay with that? You will forevermore be known as the Man of Steel.

    Brendan had qualms about forever being associated with one acting role. As an actor who prides himself on his versatility, the ‘The Whale‘ actor all lost feeling for the role. He further expressed disappointment over how studio politics got in the way of him landing the life-changing part.
