Bryan Cranston opened up about the end of ‘Your Honor’ on Dax Shepard’s ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast. He said, “I am preparing for the second and last season of ‘Your Honor’, which is a limited series that I did for Showtime. As they tell me, it got higher ratings than any other series they’ve ever had — and so, one more season of that.” So, considering it was planned as a limited series, the show has to go off air.

In an interview with EW, Cranston had talked about why he chose to star in ‘Your Honor’. He said, “I think my comedy ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ set the bar high on a situation comedy, and then the bar is equally high on the drama side with ‘Breaking Bad’, so that’s why it took so long for me to want to commit to something of more than just one appearance in a show. It had to be the right thing, and I think ‘Your Honor’ is the right thing.”

About ‘Your Honor’

Based on the Israeli drama ‘Kvodo’, Cranston plays the role of Michael Desiato, a respected judge in the city of New Orleans in ‘Your Honor’. He has to confront his deepest convictions and fight the morals and principles he has lived with all his life as his teenage son gets involved in a fatal hit-and-run case. An organized crime family adds to their troubles. Desiato has to make a series of impossible choices to protect his family. The series explores how far a father would go to save his son’s life.

The first season of the show was written and produced by Peter Moffat, who exited the series before season 2. Joey Hartstone, a writer on the first season, is serving as showrunner for season 2 now.
