Last year, the Amber Heard-Johnny Depp defamation case was easily one of the biggest news stories. It stemmed from an op-ed that Head wrote in which she talked about being the victim of domestic abuse. Later, Depp filed a $50 million defamation suit against his ex-wife.
The trial, which lasted for around two months, was widely reported by the media. People across the globe picked their sides, but most of them supported Depp. Less than a year after the trial concluded, Heard reportedly left Hollywood and settled in Madrid, Spain. Let’s find out the details.

Amber Heard Might Have Left Hollywood
Amber Heard has been keeping a low profile ever since her defamation suit with Johnny Depp concluded last year in June. However, there is shocking news for all her fans and well-wishers.
According to Daily Mail, the ‘Aquaman‘ actress has quit Hollywood and has shifted to Spain. “I can reveal that Heard has quit Hollywood and quietly relocated to Spain with her young daughter Oonagh,” the article’s writer Alison Boshoff claims.
“She’s bilingual in Spanish and is happy there, raising her daughter away from all the noise,” a friend of Heard told the journalist. She also said that the 37-year-old actress “will probably come back when the time is right, for the right project.”

Heard Paid To Johnny Depp For Legal Settlement
The jury of their infamous trial concluded that Heard’s claims of abuse were false and awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages. Heard was also given 5 million in punitive damages.
But the amount was later reduced to $350,000 due to the state laws. She was separately awarded $2 million in compensatory damages from Depp over a claim that she “roughed up” the actor’s penthouse.
In December 2022, Heard paid $1 million to Depp to settle a long legal battle. The jury had earlier ordered her to pay $8.35 million, but the amount was later reduced. Depp said that he will donate the money to charity.
