Ed Sheeran is now a proud father of two! Sheeran and his wife Cherry Seaborn welcomed their second child, a daughter, on Thursday. The singer shared the happy news through an Instagram post. A lovely snapshot of a pair of white baby socks on top of a brown blanket was shared by the artist on Instagram.
Sheeran and Seaborn already have a daughter named Lyra Antarctica, who was born in August 2020. They had announced the arrival of their baby daughter with a romantic Instagram message at the time. The Shape of You singer told Ellen DeGeneres in December that he finally found a purpose outside of music with the birth of his daughter.

Ed noted that music has always been his interest, passion, and career, which he likes both at work and in his own time. However, the artist stated that Lyra is now more important to him. It was Lyra’s birth that brought a redirection to Ed Sheeran’s life.
Several fans expressed astonishment and congratulated Ed on welcoming his second child. A fan even expressed his excitement for Ed’s song which is inspired by her daughter. According to Ed’s spokesperson, the artist will spend some time with his newborn daughter before he returns to tours.
“Ed and Cherry recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl and are on cloud nine. They’re so excited for Lyra to have a little sister and the four of them are currently enjoying some precious family time before Ed heads back on tour. We are delighted for them, and we hope that you can respect their privacy at this special time.”

Ed and Cherry were childhood friends and then became high school classmates in Sheffield, England. They began dating in 2015. They got married in January 2019.
