    During the Golden Globe Awards, Emma Stone hilariously made a harmless joke about Taylor Swift which was taken by many as an insult, which led to out-of-context comments and interpretations made by fans.

    The actress was asked about Swift’s response to her winning the Best Actress award for ‘Poor Things’, as the singer was seen applauding loudly for her friend.

    “What an a–hole,” Stone said jokingly, “I’ve known her for almost 20 years. I was very happy she was there and she was also nominated tonight, which was wonderful. And yes, what an a–hole.”

    The ‘La La Land’ actress seems to be avoiding any mentions of her friend, as she swears that she will never joke about Taylor publicly, again.

    In an interview with Variety, the actress said, “I definitely won’t make a joke like that again… because I saw headlines that really pulled it out of context.” She then added, pointing at herself, “What a dope.”

    Both the leading women have been great friends since 2008 and have frequently voiced their appreciation for each other on camera. It’s safe to say that Stone’s response was purely out of humor and nothing else and that the audience blew it off its context.
