Eva Mendes Sends Her Husband Ryan Gosling A Message After Missing His Iconic ‘I’m Just Ken’ Performance At The Oscars

Ryan Gosling’s Ken despite not being portrayed as an important character in Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie‘ has become one of the most popular characters from the movie. Furthermore, Ryan’sI’m Just Ken song went viral with people praising the star for his diversity. Gosling even won the People’s Choice award for his portrayal of Ken.

Despite ‘Barbie‘ being nominated for 18 Oscars, it only managed to win one. It won for the ‘Best Song’ by Billie Eilish. Fans were very disappointed by the news. However, Ryan’s ‘I’m Just Ken’ performance helped uplift the mood and was deemed the highlight of the event. Furthermore, Ryan’s wife Eva Mendes took to her Instagram to praise her husband’s performance. Even Emma Stone blamed Ryan for her wardrobe malfunction at the Oscars.

Eva Mendes has always supported Ryan no matter what. However, She was not present at the Oscars 2024 alongside Ryan worrying fans about the reason why. Ryan was seen on the red carpet with his sister, Mandi Gosling, and his mom and stepdad. Despite the couple’s fans being worried Eva was quick to shut down the rumors.

Mendes, via her Instagram, posted a picture of herself in Ryan’s Ken outfit and captioned it “You took Ken all the way to the Oscars, RG. Now come home, we need to put the kids to bed,” showcasing her unwavering support for her husband. Fans were quick to swarm her comments with questions about why she was not with him. However, the reason has not yet been revealed.

Eva had even talked about the hate Ryan was getting after being cast as Ken. “So much hate when he took on this role. So many people trying to shame him for doing it. Despite all the #Notmyken ridicule and articles written about him, he created this completely original, hilarious, heartbreaking, now iconic character and took it all the way to the Oscars. So beyond proud to be this Ken’s Barbie,” Eva said.

Mandi supported Ryan’s decision to play Ken. “It felt like such a no-brainer to me,” said Mandi in an interview with ET Canada, adding “It’s like, of course he’s Ken!” She told her brother, “You had to look for the Kenergy, but I always knew it was there.” The loving actor called her his “original Barbie.”
