Halle Berry is more than just an awesome actress; she’s a true action star who has taken more hits than the average superhero. Whether she’s rescuing the world as Storm or fighting in an MMA cage, Berry has sustained an astounding number of injuries along the road. However, don’t expect her to slow down anytime soon. She seemed to thrive on the adrenaline of the conflict, both on and off camera.
The Oscar-winning actress recently had a chuckle with her ‘The Union‘ co-star Mark Wahlberg as they discussed their battle scars from years of doing their own stunts. Berry, the queen of cool, reeled off her laundry list of injuries with the kind of casualness you’d expect from someone who’s been through it all and lived to tell the tale.

Halle Berry’s Painful Resume: Ten Injuries And Counting
So, what exactly has Halle Berry been through? Oh, just the usual—if by “usual,” you mean three knockouts, a broken arm, and ribs that snap like twigs under pressure. “I’ve been knocked out three times, got an arm broken, broke ribs twice — two ribs one time, three ribs another time — broke a tailbone, broke two toes and a finger. This finger,” Berry quipped in a Netflix clip, proudly holding up her middle finger to the camera.
One of the more infamous injuries came while she was filming 2003’s ‘Gothika‘. Berry broke a bone in her right forearm, which delayed the entire shoot by several weeks. Imagine being so tough that a broken bone is just a minor setback in your career.
3 of her 5 broken ribs came from the intense training and action scenes for ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum‘ (2019). You’d think after that, she’d take it easy, but no—two more ribs got busted while she was filming her 2020 MMA drama ‘Bruised‘, which, by the way, was also her directorial debut. If that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is.

Mark Wahlberg’s Stunt Stories
But let’s not forget Mark Wahlberg, who has also taken his fair share of hits in the name of action movies. Though his injuries might not be as extensive as Berry’s, they’re still enough to make you wince. Wahlberg admitted he’s been “banged up” over the years, listing off a “torn meniscus, separated shoulder, ego bruised quite a few times.”
In ‘The Union‘, Berry and Wahlberg’s characters dive into a high-stakes espionage mission that’s sure to add more injuries to their growing lists. Berry stars as Roxanne, a US intelligence agent. While Wahlberg plays her former high school sweetheart, Mike, who gets dragged into the chaos. The film promises plenty of action, but knowing Berry, she’s probably already planning her next round of stunts—and maybe even a few more broken bones to add to her résumé.
Berry’s dedication to her craft is nothing short of legendary. Her action-packed filmography includes iconic roles in ‘Swordfish‘ (2001), ‘Die Another Day’ (2002), ‘Catwoman‘ (2004), and ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle‘ (2017), among others.
‘The Union‘ will be premiering on Netflix on August 16.
